Celebrating 51 Years
It all started on Dec. 4, 1966 with the first exhibition at the former Grand Avenue Galleries which featured artwork by local college students. From there the gallery evolved into David Barnett Gallery and has included many solo exhibitions for local artists like Sylvia Spicuzza, Joe Rozman, Reggie K. Gee, Alayna Rose, Karin Krohne Kaufman, Hsin-Lin Chiao and national artists like Carol Summers, Lester Johnson, among many others.
The Gallery has also held major exhibitions by Milton Avery (being the first gallery to feature his 1930's artwork), exhibitions featuring ceramics by Pablo Picasso, exhibitions of 250 Zimbabwe Shona Sculptures, and exhibitions of original work by Matisse, Chagall, Kees Van Dongen, Miro, Thomas Hart Benton, Warrent Brandt, Wolf Kahn, Claude Weisbuch, and others.
