"Bonal" is an original lithograph poster by Adolphe Mouron Cassandre. It features an abstracted figure drinking Bonal Gentiane Quina, a cocktail or aperitif, which, consumed before a meal, stimulates the appetite. This figure is in front of a yellow background, and the liquid transitions into pink stars inside the body. A key overlaps the figure's stomach, suggesting the "unlocking" of the appetite. 60" x 44 1/2" art 63 5/8" x 47 5/8" frame Poster and theatre designer, lithographer, painter and creator of typefaces, Cassandre, is one of the greatest commercial artists of this century. He reconciled the ideas of such contemporary avant-garde movements as Cubism, Surrealism and Neue Sachlichkeit, with the demands of commercial art.
