This original lithograph by Pierre-Aguste Renoir entitled 'Claude Renoir, tourné a gauche,' the artist captures an intimate portrait of his young son. Claude, who was only three years old at the time, was a favorite subject of Renoir during the first decade of the twentieth century and would often depict him in prints and paintings. It is one from a portfolio of twelve lithographs featuring a variety of subjects ranging from portraits of friends and family to nude figures – each rendered in his soft and expressive style.
