The present aquatint is an excellent example of the multifigural works of Lester Johnson. The print presents the viewer with three seated figures, their crossed legs pushed against the picture plane and their heads foreshortened in the background. The figures themselves are constructed with Johnson's painterly aesthetic, made possible by the watercolor-like qualities of aquatint.
