A likeable young man, Luckmore, whose family is from Malawi, was born in 1979. The death of his parents made him realize the fragility of life and the importance of following your heart. He was fond of weaving and sketching as a boy but it wasn’t until he was employed by artist Sydney Majengwa that he realized in which direction he really wanted to go. Instead of copying his teacher as some artists tend to do, Luckmore wanted to develop his own style, so experimented with different ideas - and still does. Somewhat a philosopher, he says he wants the people of the world to understand there is no difference between the beggar and the rich. Both have equality and the right to live. When not working, he says he likes to play football. He married Faith in 2003.
