Añamarie A. Edwards

Añamarie Edwards is an artist and educator born in Knoxville, TN and raised in Theodore, AL. She has received education at the Milwaukee Institute of Art and Design (BFA-New Studio Practice) and the School of the Museum of Fine Arts at Tufts (Post Bacc-Studio Art). Her passions around identity, black history, and representation drive her interdisciplinary arts practice. In her free time, she is a Social media manager and content creator helping artists and brands build both rewarding and engaging spaces online. Her art practice is currently based in Milwaukee,WI.
Anna Thornton
Gallery/Research Assistant

Anna Thornton is the Gallery/Research Assistant at the gallery. She assists customers with purchases, appraisals, framing, and restoration. She has a B.A. in Studio Art and English from Belhaven University and an M.A. in Art History from Texas Christian University. When she is not at the gallery, Anna enjoys baking, taking long nature walks, and spending time with her cat, Bingley.
Jennifer McCormick
Art Historian

Jennifer McCormick is David Barnett Gallery’s resident art historian. She conducts research and writes art historical content for the gallery, for clients, and for the public. Jennifer has a B.A. in Art History from Northwestern University, an M.A. in Art History, Theory, and Criticism from Stonybrook University, and achieved doctoral candidacy in the History of Art at the University of Michigan.
Kat Richert
Head of Framing Department

Kat Richert began working in custom framing in 1998 and now works on custom framing, conservation, and minor restorations for the gallery. She attended the Milwaukee Institute of Art and Design from 1999-2004. When she is not framing at the gallery, Kat is also a watercolor artist.
